Cheater Donuts

A truly happy Saturday Morning Breakfast, and actually, pretty easy!

~As many cans of refrigerator biscuits as you think you might like

~Oil for deep frying

~Cinnamon sugar

~Powdered sugar

Heat oil in a large skillet. I don't know how hot to tell you, when it seems like its been a while, drop in a donut, if the oil bubbles and the donut starts browning up right away, its good. If nothing seems to happen, fish out your donut, set it aside and wait a little longer. Our stove heats by numbers, and I usually have mine on 9, then turn it to about 7 once I begin frying.
Fry the donut for around 30-45 seconds flip, and do the same on the other. Watch they don't darken to quickly! Remove with a slotted spoon, and drain on paper towels a few minutes. Roll while still warm in one of the sugars. Eat and be merry.

Very Best Buttermilk Pancakes

This is my most favorite pancake recipe. They always turn out moist, light, and they freeze and reheat like a dream. This recipe makes allot, and is easy to halve, but I usually just make the whole batch so I can have some in the freezer.
Very Best Buttermilk Pancakes
4 C. all-purpose flour
1/4 C. sugar
2 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp.baking powder
4 eggs
4 C. buttermilk
In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking soda, salt, and baking powder. In another bowl, whisk the eggs and buttermilk until blended; stir into dry ingredients just until blended. Pour batter by 1/4 cupfuls onto a lightly greased hot griddle; turn when bubbles form on top.
Cook until second side is golden. Yield:2 1/2 dozen
